Week 1 Update!

Hi all,

Thank you for a smooth first week of CVA.  Here are a few things to remember:

1. Score submission for ALL games (both home and away teams must submit scores), are due by 8pm the coming Saturday.  Failure to submit scores on time will result in point deductions for every week delinquent.  Forms to submit can be found on the CVA website: http://home.cvatoronto.com/ under "Score Submission"

2. Next week's devotional aid has been posted on the website, and can be found under "Devotions"

3. Please find the attached Coaches Tracking form.  I suggest you use this form to fill out the player names, game codes, home and away games.  You may also use it as your own reference guide each week.

4. ALL DEVOTIONS are MANDATORY.  All players who attend the game must attend devotions, or else his or her team will forfeit the game 0-25 to the other team.  Barring EMERGENCIES, there are no exceptions to this rule.  As well, all emergencies will need to be explained.  If you notice a player missing please inform the league.

5. Teams may add players to their roster at any time throughout the season if they are not already playing for another team, if you have informed the league, and if they sign a waiver.  All new players must play a minimum of 7 games to qualify for playoffs.

6. All games should end promptly at their scheduled time.  It is up to the discretion of the refs to allow a game to go to completion if going a MAXIMUM of five minutes over the scheduled time will not affect the next game.  That being said, coaches should be aware of playing times and encourage their players to speed the game up between rallies to ensure the maximum number of points are gained within that time frame.  Coaches who notice that they are running short on time at the start of a game (for example, the second set), may consult with the opposing team.  If both teams agree, the score can start the game at 4-4 (instead of 0-0), up to 25.  This ensures that at least one team of the two achieves the maximum number of points for that game.  Moral of the story: PLEASE BE AWARE OF YOUR GAME TIME!!!

That's all I have for now!  If you have any questions, please ask!  We love to hear from you!
